HISTORY

NY Girls Baseball got its start after the Baseball For All National tournament in Rockford, Illinois in 2017. Seeing the excitement of girls from across the country competing in baseball, we were determined to bring together girls from New York, New Jersey and Connecticut to build their own teams.

In August, 2018 the NYC Wonders played in the Baseball For All Nationals in the 11U, 13U and 18U divisions.  The 11U team won fourth place in their division and got the sportsmanship award, the 13U team won third place in their division, and the 18U team won second place!

In September, 2018 the NYC Wonders hosted the inaugural Maria Pepe Baseball Series in Edgewater, NJ. Honoring Maria Pepe, whose pioneering efforts allowed girls to play Little League baseball, teams came together from not just New York, but Boston, MA, Washington, DC, Pawtucket, RI, Short Hills, NJ and Quebec, Canada! The competition, sportsmanship, and mentoring for all the players was incredible.

NY Girls Baseball would like to thank Maria Pepe, her coach Jimmy Farina, Baseball for All's Justine Siegal, Edgewater mayor Michael McPartland, and Edgewater Rec's Jill Sullivan for all their support!
